Its unique way to hold local leaders accountable and that’s what one Baltimore pastor is trying to start up in Chattanooga.

The program is called “Act Now”.

Pastor Alvin Hathaway says creating Act Now has not only held leaders accountable in Baltimore but has also made city leaders more transparent.

He says the same could happen right here in Chattanooga if those in the community do the hard work by using policy, procedure and legislation.

“Act now you don’t hear that. Were really talking about a program with some teeth in it that will hold our leaders accountable, said Pastor Gary Hathaway.

Pastor Gary Hathaway of Greater Tucker Baptist church invited his cousin Alvin to speak because he thinks Chattanooga needs more accountability.

“We’re nowhere where we need to be,” said Gary Hathaway.

But how do you hold your leaders accountable?

Hathaway says he’s hired inspected generals in Baltimore who are experts in their subject matter.

“And independent person who had the subpoena power and authority to actually present evidence when there was wrong doing,” said Alvin Hathaway.
